Designplan is a family owned British lighting manufacturer established forty years ago.

The first days were in rooms over High Street, Wimbledon. Within a year a move to an old run down building in Grove Road, Sutton and some twenty or so years later with several landlords and occupying various buildings in the area, a move to a purpose built factory on a local industrial estate.

A year later office accommodation was added and this has been home for head office Designplan for the past twenty years.

From this base the company developed and became recognised as the leading manufacturer of Vandal & Weather resistant lighting in the UK.

This specialisation resulted in Designplan achieving the widest range of specifically designed products to meet the needs of engineers and designers for such lighting, in the world.

Over recent years the expertise and quality that has been synonymous with Designplan's design & manufacturing processes has been applied to other areas of the lighting market.

The result being Internal commercial, Emergency, L.E.D. as well as Special purpose & Bespoke Lighting all manufactured to the same very high standards and that are now regularly being specified for projects throughout the UK and overseas.

Recent manufacturing innovations have resulted in many of the standard ranges now being available for despatch from stock making the selection of Designplan equipment sensible for prompt service as well as long term value for money.

Significant progress has been achieved in more recent years with the development of overseas business. In 1990 Designplan Inc. was formed and now has a manufacturing facility based in New Jersey to serve the US & Canadian markets.

All US states and the territories of Canada now have a Designplan agent available to advise on product selection.

In addition to the local representation in the North American market we have Designplan offices in Holland, Germany and Italy.
